Position Title: Cherry Street Food Bank / Warehouse Worker (Part-time) Normal work week: Monday and Wednesday 8:30-5:30 PM Normal work hours: 20 hours per week Location: Cherry Street Food Bank Reports to: Cherry Street Food Bank Manager
This non-exempt position assists the Cherry Street Food Bank Manager with the operation and maintenance of the Cherry Street Food Bank and follows the procedures and standards established in the Operations Manual and the Northwest Harvest Guidebook. The position is a part of the Operations Department and reports to the Cherry Street Food Bank Manager.
Duties include: • Orients and supervises volunteers, maintaining professional and courteous demeanor when communicating with the public and co-workers. • Organizes and maintains food stock for distribution. • Greets customers, distributes food to customers and responds to special needs of customers. • Greets, accepts food from and issues receipts to donors. • Assists with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles. • Operates and maintains pallet jacks and other Cherry Street Food Bank warehouse equipment. • Inventories stock on hand and daily identifies restock needs. • Plans logistics of product movement and placement for accessibility, ease of visual oversight, maximum space use and safety • Orders and maintains supplies needed for food bank operations. • Performs maintenance and repair tasks as needed. • Performs other duties as requested.
Qualilfications: Valid Washington State drivers license, experience in warehousing or equivelant, Ability to get forklift certification, capacity to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Hours and Compensation: This is a part-time position. Salary depends on experience. No benefit package.
