How can you volunteer?
Please view the list of opportunities below and complete a Northwest Harvest volunteer application including your preferred job or jobs. Additional opportunities arise as needed. For more information, contact Volunteer Manager Jeri Chonle at (206) 923-7456 or jeric@northwestharvest.org.

Administrative Offices:
We may have a future need for occasional volunteer office help with typing, filing, posting, mailing, data entry and a variety of office tasks. If you have a special talent or skill (such as database management or business writing), please let us know.

Cherry Street Food Bank:
Volunteers are scheduled Monday through Friday at Cherry Street Food Bank to help sort, package and distribute food.

Sandwich Brigade:
Sandwich Brigade volunteers make about 1,000 fresh sandwiches each Monday and Wednesday morning for our Sack Lunch program. We always need help making sandwiches from 8 a.m. to about noon (usually less than four hours).

Kent Warehouse:

Groups of volunteers are scheduled at our main warehouse Monday through Saturday to help with a number of food handling chores. Evening shifts are now available on Wednesdays!  Warehouse volunteer hours can be scheduled as available on the following shifts:
M, T, Th, F, Sa: 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.
W: 1-3 p.m. and 4-8 p.m.
Closed Sundays.

Special Events:
Volunteer support is needed to collect donations at sporting events and concerts, help out at pledge drives, put together informational materials and represent the agency. Events take place all year long, often on evenings and weekends.

Speaker's Bureau:
Would you like to talk about us? Are you excited and enthusiastic about the mission of Northwest Harvest and fighting hunger? Do you enjoy telling your family, friends or complete strangers about our work and how they might help? Do you like meeting exciting new people through public speaking or information fairs? If you do, our Speakers Bureau is for you. We often need volunteers to address organizations, businesses and school groups. Join the fun while spreading the word about Northwest Harvest. For more information or an application to sign up, contact Development Coordinator David Junius at (206) 923-7437, or davidj@northwestharvest.org.
