This event hosted over 350 Northwest-area food advocates—joining together to share ideas of how food is society’s primary ingredient in justice. Northwest Harvest’s COO, Eu-wanda Eagans, was a panelist in a powerful session addressing equity in the food system, overcoming corporate interests, recognizing privilege, and developing innovative solutions that, in order to be successful, must better incorporate voices of those most-adversely impacted by a long, systemic history of disenfranchisement. Northwest Harvest thanks the Beecher’s Foundation and all other participating organizations who recognize hunger is not just an absence of food—it’s an absence of justice.
